Mission Brief - FAQ

OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE.

Common queries regarding deployment, infrastructure impact, and operational capabilities.

CATEGORY 01: OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES

Q: What happens if my home loses power or Wi-Fi? A: It depends on your Defense Tier.

  • Tier III (Standard): Requires active power and Wi-Fi to communicate. If the grid fails, the system enters "Passive Mode" (the valve remains open, but remote alerts cease).

  • Tier IV (Flagship): Engineered for Zero-Fail Continuity. It includes a UPS Battery Backup and proprietary "Device-to-Device" (D2D) communication protocols. If the power and internet fail, Tier IV sensors still talk directly to the valve to shut off water during a leak.

Q: How fast does the system react? A: The average reaction time from "Wet Sensor" to "Valve Closure" is less than 5 seconds. The system neutralizes the threat before it can spread to adjacent rooms or lower levels.

Q: Can I control the valve remotely? A: Yes. You have full command via the mobile dashboard. You can remotely shut off the water (e.g., if you forgot to turn it off before a vacation) or open it for a neighbor/contractor.

CATEGORY 02: DEPLOYMENT & INSTALLATION

Q: Will the installation damage my walls or drywall? A: No.

  • The Sensors: Surface-mounted using non-invasive architectural adhesive or unobtrusive placement. Zero drilling required for sensors.

  • The Valve: Requires a "non surgical" addon for the main water line (typically in the utility room or basement). Our technicians are certified to execute this with precision. We do not open walls unless the main line is inaccessible, which is rare.

Q: How long does deployment take? A:

  • Tier I & II: Approximately 1.5 hours.

  • Tier III & IV: Approximately 2-4 hours. We test and calibrate the entire grid before leaving the perimeter.

Q: Can I install this myself? A: No. To maintain the Certificate of Active Defense (for insurance purposes) and the hardware warranty, the system must be installed and calibrated by a certified HydroDefend technician.

CATEGORY 03: FINANCIAL & INSURANCE

Q: Will this lower my insurance premiums? A: Likely, yes. Tier III and Tier IV systems meet the criteria for "Active Leak Detection & Mitigation" used by most major carriers (Chubb, State Farm, USAA, etc.). Discounts typically range from 5% to 11%. Upon installation, we issue a verification certificate for you to forward to your agent.

Q: Does the system require a monthly subscription? A: No.

  • Tier I, II, III, and IV are one-time deployment investments. There are no mandatory monthly fees for standard operation.

  • Optional: Commercial clients or those requiring LTE Cellular Backup (independent of home internet) can opt for a data plan add-on. We do offer remote monitoring capabilities to monitor all devices and act as point of contact for your emergency contact for first responder if needed.

Q: What is the warranty? A: We provide a 1-Year Workmanship Warranty on the physical installation and pass through the full Manufacturer's Warranty (typically 2 years) on all hardware.
